About the Great Guernsey Trail 12Ks of Christmas
The course runs out and back on the Great Guernsey Trail, a paved path that follows Leatherwood Creek through Lore City. It is entirely traffic-free, so the only thing to watch is the scenery along the water. Runners show up in Christmas costumes, ugly sweaters, and full Santa gear, and there is a prize for the best one.
Packet pickup and race-day registration both happen at Leatherwood Park, the same place the race starts. There is food at the finish line, along with hot chocolate and warming stations, which matters when you are standing around in an elf costume in the cold.

The Great Guernsey Trail 12Ks of Christmas has been held every year since at least 2017. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
