The course winds through the campus of Governors State University, so you are running past university buildings and open grounds the whole way. The chip-timed option is for runners; walkers can join in without a bib. Awards go to top finishers by age group, and there is a kids dash and yoga session at the bell tower after the main race wraps up.

Parking is in the east lot off Crawford Avenue and University Parkway, and that entrance is the designated way onto campus during the event. Check-in opens before the start, with on-site registration available. Food trucks are on site, and a warmup with the university's physical therapy team happens in the lead-up to the gun.
