About the Gold Country Run 10K, 5K and Kids K

The course starts and finishes at El Dorado Hills Town Center, looping through the shopping and dining area before heading out and back through the surrounding landscape. The return stretch into the finish is fast and open, which makes it easy for spectators to post up near the end and actually see something. The Kids K loops a pond at Town Center, kept well apart from the main course.

A post-race festival with sponsor booths runs in the Town Center plaza after the main events wrap. The start area sits right in the heart of Town Center, so finding your way around on race morning is simple enough.

Common Questions About the Gold Country Run 10K, 5K and Kids K

Will I finish last at the Gold Country Run 10K, 5K and Kids K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:27, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:08:00, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Gold Country Run 10K, 5K and Kids K a good first 5K?

A field of 220 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Gold Country Run 10K, 5K and Kids K?

The 5K winner ran 18:06 while the median finisher took 33:27. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
