About the Gobbler's Gallop
The race starts in front of a high school on Thanksgiving morning, with the finish coming on the school's athletic track. The course has been adjusted recently, with a significant hill removed in favor of an out-and-back stretch on a couple of local roads. The result is a route that reads flatter than it used to, which runners doing both distances will appreciate.
Race-day registration is available if you miss the online window. Proceeds go toward cross-country programs at a pair of local schools and a community education foundation, so the field tends to draw people who know each other.
