About the Gobble on the Green 5K

The course runs through The Village Green, a nonprofit park in Cashiers, and the surface changes as you go: sections of pavement give way to gravel, grass, and dirt, so you are never quite on the same ground twice. Volunteers and signage are posted along the route, which helps on a course that winds through park grounds rather than staying on open roads.

Early packet pickup runs the evening before at Lewis Hall, and race-morning check-in opens there as well. Parking is scattered across several nearby lots, including the library, the recreation center, and a grass lot behind a local bank, all a short walk from the start. Pumpkin pie turns up at the finish for the top finishers, and door prizes go out by bib draw.
