About the Glenwood Springs Turkey Day 5K & Fun Run
The course follows the Roaring Fork River on paved paths through Glenwood Springs, with Mount Sopris in view along the way. The longer route crosses the river a couple of times and loops out briefly on the Rio Grande Trail before returning to Veltus Park. The terrain is smooth and flat, and costumes are encouraged, so expect a fair number of turkeys in the crowd.
Everything starts race morning at Veltus Park, with bib pickup opening early before the gun. Parking at the park itself is tight, so carpooling is encouraged, with overflow options nearby including a fitness center lot and the elementary school. Pie, hot cocoa, and cider are at the finish.
