About the Girls on the Run Fall 5K Celebration

The course runs on the Wright State University campus. Each Girls on the Run participant runs alongside an adult buddy who stays with her the whole way, so the pace is set by the girl, not a clock. A shorter fun run option shares the same start and finish, which keeps families together at the line. Post-race, the crowd is mostly kids, parents, and coaches.

Parking is on campus, with a main lot and several overflow lots nearby. The start and finish are at the same spot, so it is easy to find your people before and after.

Common Questions About the Girls on the Run Fall 5K Celebration

Will I finish last at the Girls on the Run Fall 5K Celebration?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 47:33, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:08:39, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Girls on the Run Fall 5K Celebration a good first 3.1 Miles?

A field of 428 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Girls on the Run Fall 5K Celebration?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 23:36 while the median finisher took 47:33. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
