About the Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K Houston

The course runs through John Paul Landing Park and the surrounding greenbelts, moving through open parkland with a natural, tree-lined feel. The terrain is gentle throughout, and the out-and-back shape means you get a good look at the course before you turn around. Runners in holiday costumes are common enough that they start to feel like part of the scenery.

There is a costume contest at the finish, with prizes for the best holiday attire. A DJ keeps things moving from the start, and when you finish, there are cookies and milk at the rally tent. Awards are announced live on site, so if you are racing for a place, you will not be waiting long to hear results.
