About the 2027 Gift of Life Steps for Life South Florida 5K
The race is held on the campus of Florida Atlantic University and is organized around a cause: supporting stem cell and bone marrow transplants for blood cancer patients. One of the more unusual moments happens before the run, when donors and recipients meet for the first time at an opening ceremony. There is also a short sprint for young children, giving families a reason to come as a group.
Packet pickup runs in the days before the race at Runners Edge, a local running store in Boca Raton. Race-morning check-in is also available for those who cannot make it ahead of time.
