About the 2026 Ghost of the Coast 5K
The Ghost of the Coast starts and finishes at the South Strand Recreation Center, with the route looping through the surrounding area on pavement. It is a Halloween-themed race, so costumes are part of the scene, and the field tends to reflect that spirit. The course itself is flat road running through a residential part of Myrtle Beach.
Packet pickup is available the evening before at the recreation center, with an earlier window that same morning at a government building nearby. Race-morning pickup opens at the start area before the gun. Parking is at the recreation center. After the race, a fall festival with food, music, and vendors fills the grounds.
