GCP Flag Day 5K

Bradenton, FL

Registration openAnnual since at least 2025

About the GCP Flag Day 5K

The course runs through Robinson Preserve, a natural area in Bradenton with trails and open water views. It reads as a flat, outdoor route through preserved land rather than a road race through neighborhoods. Pickup happens race morning on site, so there is no separate trip to plan around.

A guided stretch session happens just before the start, and the race director is typically out front greeting people. Hot dogs are at the finish, which makes the post-race scene feel more like a cookout than a typical finish-line table.

Common Questions About the GCP Flag Day 5K

Will I finish last at the GCP Flag Day 5K?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 37:12, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:17:59, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the GCP Flag Day 5K a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (69 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the GCP Flag Day 5K?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 19:44 while the median finisher took 37:12. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
