About the Gay Head Run for the Light 10K
The course starts at the Gay Head Cliffs, runs down past Aquinnah Town Hall, the public library, and Wampanoag Tribal lands, then climbs back along Moshup Trail with the ocean surf beside you before finishing near the lighthouse. The terrain mixes road and coastal trail, and the views along the beach stretch are the reason most people come back.
Race-morning packet pickup is at Aquinnah Circle, near the lighthouse and the race tent where you can leave a bag. The organizers note that getting there well before the start gives you time to sort out logistics, which is worth taking seriously on an island where transportation takes some planning. A post-race feast with food from local merchants follows the finish.
