About the Gaston Lions Club 5k Run/Walk
The course starts at a street corner in town, picks up a rail trail heading south, then winds along country roads to finish at the Lions Club Park. It runs mostly flat with long straight stretches, so the legs stay in a rhythm. Lions Club members and police stand at each turn, so there is no guessing where to go.
Registration opens at an elementary school before the start, and a shuttle runs between the park finish and the starting area for anyone who wants to leave a car at the end. Snacks and drinks are set up at the finish, and a short kids fun run follows the main race at the park.

The Gaston Lions Club 5k Run/Walk has been held every year since at least 2015. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Jul 27, 2026.
