This is a Thanksgiving morning race held on the grounds of a high school, so the surroundings feel familiar and open. The shorter distance is a true one-mile out and back style run, while the longer course is a proper 5K. Costumes are part of the culture here, with prizes going to the best-dressed turkey groups, adults and kids alike.

Packet pickup runs at an office suite in Chadds Ford across several days before Thanksgiving, which the organizers strongly encourage to keep race-morning lines short. On race day, parking off the main school entrance closes early in the morning; after that cutoff, drivers need to use the side entrance off Bethel Road near Valley Point Church. The on-site check-in table opens before the start.
