About the Galena Kiwanis River Trail Run
The course follows the Galena River Trail south from Depot Park, running alongside the backwaters of the Mississippi on an out-and-back route. Underfoot is mostly crushed limestone with occasional stretches of asphalt. The terrain is nearly flat with a few gentle rolls through forested surroundings. Strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course during the race.
Packet pickup happens the evening before the race and again on race morning, both at a tent under the bridge at Depot Park. Race-morning pickup closes before the start, so arriving early gives you time to settle in before things get going.

The Galena Kiwanis River Trail Run has been held every year since at least 2019. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
How we calculate these stats: RunSesh calculates these figures from the most recent published results of past editions, sourced from RunSignup. We show aggregates only: field size, winning and median times, and the cutoff. We never publish individual finisher tables. Last updated Oct 25, 2026.
