About the G.O.A.T. 5K
The course runs through the trails at Kiawah River, a working farm property on Johns Island. The terrain is natural and unpaved, so expect roots and soft ground underfoot. The start and finish area sits alongside The Goatery, where baby goats are present at the corral, which tends to set a particular tone for the morning.
Packet pickup runs the day before at a running shop in Mount Pleasant, with a short race-morning window available on site. Parking is along the farm road into the property, and carpooling is encouraged given the rural approach. After the race, biscuits, coffee, and a farmers market with local produce are set up near the finish.
