About the Friends of Reston Fall 5K & Pumpkin Dash
The 5K runs along Reston's paved trails and starts and finishes at Browns Chapel Park. The course is road and trail surface throughout. A separate kids' dash runs before the main race, short enough for the youngest children, with a small pumpkin waiting at the finish line. The event raises money for scholarship and enrichment programs through a local nonprofit tied to Reston Association.
Parking at Browns Chapel Park fills up, so overflow lots at nearby Reston Association facilities and Baron Cameron Park are worth knowing about. The walk from Baron Cameron Park to the start is easy and makes for a decent warmup. Packet pickup runs the morning before the race at the park itself, with race-morning registration also available online.
