About the Friends of Kensico Cemetery 5K Run/Walk
The course runs through the grounds of Kensico Cemetery and Arboretum in Valhalla, weaving along paths past lakes and notable architecture. The race is timed for fall, so the foliage is part of the scenery. It is a quieter, more reflective setting than a road race through town, and the grounds have a lot of visual interest.
A catered breakfast is on site after you finish, which makes the post-race stretch worth sticking around for. The event benefits local historic and cultural preservation groups, so the entry fee goes somewhere specific.
