About the French's Ledges Snowshoe 5k & Fun Family Story Walk Snowshoe
French's Ledges is a local trail area in Meriden, and this event uses it for two separate options: a snowshoe race through the woods and a shorter family story walk along the same trails. The 5K is competitive enough to have awards for top finishers, but the story walk is really aimed at kids getting their first taste of trail time in winter.
Proceeds go toward trail improvements and a permanent outdoor installation at French's Ledges that will make the area more accessible to the broader community, so the entry fees are doing something concrete.
