About the Freedom Run 5K

The course starts and finishes at the courthouse on Main Street in downtown Springfield, looping out through town before cutting into Idle Hour Park along its outer walking path. After the park, the route turns onto a road that climbs steadily for a good stretch, the one real test of the morning. The final turn brings you back down to Main Street.

Race-morning check-in opens well before the start, giving you time to get settled. The finish is right in the heart of downtown, and the race honors local first responders, with team competitions alongside the standard age group awards.
