About the Fred Walker Memorial Jingle Bells 5k
The courses are USATF certified, which means the distances are measured and the results count toward state records. A shorter fun run runs alongside the main race, and a costume contest is part of the morning. The event benefits Long Beach High School scholarship funds, and runners are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy for a Toys for Tots collection at the start.
The Coast Cares Foundation puts this on, with the high school baseball team helping sponsor the toy drive. If you are bringing a donation, plan to have it unwrapped and ready to drop off when you arrive.
