About the Freakeee 5K Run/Walk
The course runs through Ripley, finishing back at City Park, beside the elementary school. It is a Halloween-themed race, and the best costume among the runners wins a gift certificate, so some people show up dressed for it. The awards ceremony happens right at the finish line, and there is an after-party once the racing is done.
Registration opens the day of the race at City Park. The race is part of a multi-event series organized through Main Street Ripley, and runners who complete enough races in the series become eligible for a championship jacket.
