About the Frank Captain Memorial Route 66 5K
The course runs on brick-paved streets through Chelsea, following historic Route 66. Along the way there is a pass through the Route 66 underpass, and the route takes you past landmarks the town has held onto for generations, including an old truss bridge and a house that arrived by railroad catalog order. It is a course with real history under your feet.
Packet pickup and same-day registration open early on race morning. Post-race, there is breakfast, and the whole event lands on the same weekend as the town's Jamboree, so there is plenty to stick around for after you finish. Proceeds go to Chelsea Public Schools cross country teams, the program Coach Captain spent years building.
