About the Fox Trot - CENTEX Race Series

The Fox Trot runs through Nolanville with a start and finish in front of City Hall. The race leans into a retro theme, with costumed runners, themed water stations along the course, and a finish-line scene that includes confetti and photo opportunities. The crowd tends toward festive rather than fast, and the atmosphere carries that through to the end.

Packet pickup runs the day before the race. On race morning, the City Hall plaza serves as the hub for everything, so there is no hunting around for the start.

Common Questions About the Fox Trot - CENTEX Race Series

Will I finish last at the Fox Trot - CENTEX Race Series?

Almost certainly not. Half the 5K field finished slower than 33:37, and the last recorded finisher came in around 57:47, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Fox Trot - CENTEX Race Series a good first 5K?

A field of 257 is big enough that you will have company at your pace without feeling lost in a crowd. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 5K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Fox Trot - CENTEX Race Series?

The 5K winner ran 17:37 while the median finisher took 33:37. That spread points to a broad, mostly recreational field rather than a race dominated by club runners.
