About the 8th Annual Forging Families 5K/10K and 1 Mile Fun Run
The course starts and ends at the Shelby County Arts Council and runs through Columbiana on open roads, with police at intersections to manage traffic. It is mostly flat with just enough variation to keep it honest, and the longer distance option loops back through the same ground, so you see the finish area before you are done.
Packet pickup and race-morning registration both open at the Arts Council, which sits close to Columbiana's Main Street. After the race, the area around the building is worth a look, and the downtown shops are a short walk away if you want to stretch the morning out.
