About the For The Wild 5K/10K+
The course starts and finishes at the Newbold Recreation Area, heading out along Ole Lake Road and Lake Mildred Road before picking up a bike path back. The terrain is mixed, so expect a bit of variety underfoot. Both distances are available to runners, walkers, and bikers, and the event is not timed, so there is no clock pressure.
Parking is at the Newbold Recreation Area on Ole Lake Road. Registration and check-in happen the morning of the race before the first wave goes off. The race benefits Wild Instincts, a local wildlife rehabilitation center, and runners who wear nature or wildlife gear get entered into a drawing at the finish.
