About the Flowing Forward 5k: Water for West Virginia
This race is organized by an engineering student group at West Virginia University and raises money and supplies for communities dealing with water access problems across the state. The course is a 5K, and the morning draws a wide range of people, from students to families, all there for the same cause rather than the clock.
The event doubles as a water drive. Runners can bring sealed bottled water or a cash donation on race day, and everything collected goes directly toward helping communities with limited or disrupted water service.
