About the 29th Annual Firecracker 5k

The course runs on asphalt behind a local school, starting and finishing in the same area. It is mostly flat with a couple of genuine hills mixed in, the kind that remind you they are there but do not ruin your pace. Proceeds support a local cross country team, which gives the event a hometown feel without needing to announce it.

Packet pickup happens on race morning at the start site, wrapping up before the gun goes off. The kids' short run goes off later in the morning, so families with younger children have a little breathing room after the main race.
