About the Fifth Street Rock Monster

The trails at Forever Farm are private land, closed to the public almost every other day of the year. That context shapes the whole morning. The singletrack is technical and rocky, the kind of terrain that demands attention underfoot rather than pace. The course runs as continuous loops, so navigation stays simple while the ground beneath you does not.

Camping is available the night before on the farm, and there is a mountain bike event the day prior if you want to see the property before race morning. Afterward, the grill comes out, food is on, and local beer is available for those who want it. The after-party runs until the fuel and the beer run out, whichever comes first.

Common Questions About the Fifth Street Rock Monster

Will I finish last at the Fifth Street Rock Monster?

Almost certainly not. Half the 10K field finished slower than 1:08:44, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:38:56, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Fifth Street Rock Monster a good first 10K?

It is a small race (36 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 10K, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Fifth Street Rock Monster?

The 10K winner ran 51:36 while the median finisher took 1:08:44. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
