About the Field Fest 5K Trail Run
The course runs through a research station outside of town, a wooded property with a V-shaped valley, spring-fed ponds, and native wetlands threaded through it. The terrain is trail, so expect roots and natural surface underfoot rather than pavement, with hills rising around the valley on both sides.
After the race, the station opens up into a full festival: food trucks, live music, and science activities spread across the grounds. The event raises money for university research, and the post-race scene is clearly built for people who are sticking around for the day.
