About the Festivus 5K for Autism
The course runs through historic downtown Salem, starting and finishing on Derby Street. It is fast and flat, with a single water stop along the way. The race raises money for children with autism through a local special education consortium, so there is real purpose behind the morning. Costume contest winners take home awards alongside the overall and age group finishers.
Packet pickup runs the day before at a local running store in Beverly. Race-day registration opens well before the gun at Finz Seafood and Grill on Wharf Street, which also hosts the post-race party. Parking is available in public lots, garages, and on the street throughout the area.
