About the Father's Day Dash 5K
The course runs a loop through Jefferson, starting near a historic depot and heading east through a dog park before turning back through the center of town. It is mostly flat, passing the town fountain and finishing in a police station parking lot. The route goes through neighborhoods and past local landmarks rather than trails or parks.
The kids dash and the main race start from the same area, so families tend to gather at the start together. Post-race, runners get a voucher for ham and bean soup at the local Covered Bridge Festival later in the year, which is a nice reason to stick around for that event. Restrooms are available at the start.
