About the Fast Pace Race 5K/10K/1 mile

The course is built around a long downhill run to the finish, and that design is deliberate. Both the longer distances start a mile or so from the Cumming Fairgrounds and run point-to-point back to it, so there is no looping back through the start. The drop in elevation is consistent enough that fast times are genuinely common here, not just promised.

Buses shuttle runners from the fairgrounds to the start, and there is a bag check there for jackets and warm layers. Parking is at the fairgrounds, which also serves as the finish area. Post-race food and drinks are available inside, along with restrooms and covered space in the arena.
