About the Fast and Furriest 5k Year 13
The course winds through the Rountree neighborhood, starting and finishing in a field next to the Sleepy Opossum Cafe on Cherry Street. The route is residential, with volunteers and signs keeping you on track. Dogs on standard leashes are welcome, and the field tends to fill with people who came for the animals as much as the running.
Packet pickup runs the evening before at Tie & Timber Beer Co., just down the block from the start. On race morning, parking is on nearby streets, so arriving early gives you time to walk over. After the race, there are chicken tenders and cookies from a couple of local spots set out near the finish area.
