About the Families Run for Ovarian Cancer ROC Star 5K & 1-Mile Run/Walk
The course runs through Tower Grove Park on paved paths. It is flat enough that strollers are common, and the park setting means shade in spots and open grass nearby. Dogs are welcome, and quite a few show up in costume. The race is organized around ovarian cancer awareness, and a survivor ceremony takes place at the stage before the running starts.
Advance packet pickup is at a local running store in Town and Country across several days before the event. Day-of pickup opens at the pavilion on race morning before the start. Post-race, there are donuts, bananas, hot dogs, Kona Ice, and a beer option for those old enough. The finish area stays active for a while after the last runner comes through.
