About the FAME Fun 5K Run/Walk
The race runs through Boyce Park, a wooded county park east of the city. There is a shorter untimed option alongside the main chip-timed distance, so the field tends to be a mix of people treating it as a serious effort and others just out for a morning in the park. Post-race food, drinks, and snacks are set up for everyone when they finish.
Packet pickup and race-day registration both happen at the park's ski lodge on the morning of the race, closing out before the start. Parking is just across from the ski lodge, and there are flush restrooms at the start area as well as port-a-johns out on the course. Note that the park gates close before the race begins, so arriving early matters.
