About the FAM Turkey Trot
The race routes around a lake in Raccoon River Park, so the surroundings are open and easy to navigate. It draws walkers and runners alike, and the Thanksgiving morning timing means you will see plenty of families out together. The course is flat enough that pace is not really the point for most people out there.
A raffle runs alongside the race, with tickets available in the weeks leading up to it and through the morning itself. You do not have to be present on race day to win, so you can enter early. Proceeds support a children's hospital program in the area.
