About the 3rd Annual Facelift Foundation 5K FundRun

The course runs through Rawlings and Stinson Park, which gives it a park setting rather than a road race feel. Strollers and dogs are welcome on the course, which tells you something about the pace and the atmosphere. Age group awards go to top finishers, so there is a competitive layer if you want it, but most people there are running for the hospital foundation behind the event.

Packet pickup happens at the park in the hours before the start, so there is no separate trip the day before. The start area doubles as the gathering point, and free race photos are taken on the course.

Common Questions About the 3rd Annual Facelift Foundation 5K FundRun

Will I finish last at the 3rd Annual Facelift Foundation 5K FundRun?

Almost certainly not. Half the 3.1 Miles field finished slower than 29:13, and the last recorded finisher came in around 47:49, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the 3rd Annual Facelift Foundation 5K FundRun a good first 3.1 Miles?

It is a small race (27 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 3.1 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the 3rd Annual Facelift Foundation 5K FundRun?

The 3.1 Miles winner ran 18:39 while the median finisher took 29:13. That spread points to a mixed field, with a competitive front and a big recreational middle.
