About the Erin's Purpose 5k

The course runs out of a park and down through residential streets, heading south before hooking west for a short stretch and then turning back north. You retrace that same ground on the return, finishing with a loop around the park drive. The route is flat the whole way, which makes it a fast one if you are racing your own clock.

The race raises money for a nonprofit founded after a family lost a teenage daughter to suicide. The organization runs counseling and youth programs out of a house in Bloomfield. Age group awards are given for both men and women, and there are separate awards for the competitive walk and the kids race.
