About the Erie Half & 5k
The course runs along Coal Creek Trail, heading south and back. Most of it is concrete, but the middle stretch of the half marathon shifts to gravel trail before returning to pavement. Both distances share the same out-and-back shape, so you retrace your steps on the way home. Hot-air balloons are common overhead in the early morning.
Packet pickup the evening before is at a running store in Westminster. On race day, the expo opens before the first wave goes off, with late pickup and walk-up registration available. Parking centers on Reliance Park, where the race starts, with overflow in a grassy area nearby. The finish line is cup-free, so bring a bottle.
