About the Erase, Elevate, & Run 10K and 1 Mile Walk Run

This race has a specific reason for existing. A local criminal court clerk's office and a crime-stoppers organization launched it to mark a milestone in expungements processed for county residents, and that cause shapes the whole morning. The route is a standard road course, but the mission behind the event is unusually concrete for a local race.

Packet pickup runs the evening before at Breakaway Running on Madison Ave, with race-morning pickup available as well for both preregistered runners and anyone signing up that day.

Common Questions About the Erase, Elevate, & Run 10K and 1 Mile Walk Run

Will I finish last at the Erase, Elevate, & Run 10K and 1 Mile Walk Run?

Almost certainly not. Half the 6.2 Miles field finished slower than 59:26, and the last recorded finisher came in around 1:36:12, so there is a long tail of runners behind the middle of the pack. Most fields are far slower than people expect.

Is the Erase, Elevate, & Run 10K and 1 Mile Walk Run a good first 6.2 Miles?

It is a small race (34 finishers), which is friendlier and less intimidating than a big-city event, though the field thins out. There is no qualifying time, and the finish-time spread above shows how varied the field really is. If it is your first 6.2 Miles, that spread matters more than the winner's time.

How competitive is the Erase, Elevate, & Run 10K and 1 Mile Walk Run?

The 6.2 Miles winner ran 39:48 while the median finisher took 59:26. That spread points to a relatively quick field, so expect a competitive front end.
