About the epkicks *run for shoes* 5K
The race starts and finishes at a running store on Mesa, so the crowd skews local running shop regulars. The course runs through the surrounding streets. Packet pickup happens at the same store the afternoon before, which makes it easy to grab your bib and ask the staff any last-minute questions.
Post-race, there are refreshments at the finish line. Awards go to overall winners and to age group podium finishers across a wide spread of groups, and there is also a trophy for the largest team, which gives running crews something extra to organize around.
