The race starts at Kiwanis Park, where runners are encouraged to show up in EMS gear as a nod to the trauma awareness cause behind the event. The course is a standard road distance through the park. Age group awards go to the top finisher in each bracket for both men and women, so the competitive side is real even if the mission behind the race is the main draw.
