About the Empowered 5K Run/Walk
The course is a flat out-and-back, so you retrace your path to finish where you started. No real climbs to speak of, and the route is straightforward enough that you can focus on the reason most people are there: raising money for a local organization that runs programs for people living with Parkinson's disease.
The race has been held several times now, and it draws a big crowd. The cause is front and center on race morning, which gives the whole thing a purpose that goes beyond the finish line.
