About the ELM GROVE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION 0.5K OKTOBERFEST FUN RUN
This one goes from a pub to a beer tent, with stops along the way for cans of beer. It is a parade with a bib number attached, and that is the whole point. The route crosses a main road and winds through the village to the park where Oktoberfest is already getting started. Kids get root beer at the same stops adults get the real thing.
Check-in is at the pub's parking lot before the start. An accordion player performs during the pre-race program, the national anthem closes it out, and then the whole field shuffles toward the festival grounds together. There is beer at the finish tent, which is also the destination, so finishing and arriving are the same thing.
