About the Elgin Valley Fox Trot
The Fox Trot runs two distances through Elgin, with the longer course known for being genuinely challenging. One hill late in the route gets its own side competition, with prizes for the fastest male and female up that stretch. The shorter option follows the Fox River Trail. Neither course is a flat cruise.
The post-race area is a real event: food trucks, music, dancing, cold beer, and kids' treats. A fun walk along the Fox River Trail runs alongside the races for those who want to be part of the morning without pinning on a bib. Area nonprofits staff the volunteer spots throughout.
