About the Elevate 5k & 12 Hour Race at First Baptist Church
The course loops around the First Baptist Church campus, entirely on church and adjacent school grounds. The shorter option runs several loops on that same path, with volunteers posted throughout. The overnight endurance race runs the same loop repeatedly through the night, and the back section of the loop is unlit, so a headlamp is worth packing.
Packet pickup for the overnight race happens the evening before it starts. The shorter-distance runners check in race morning before the gun. Food and drinks are available during both races, and ice cream sandwiches appear at the finish area for the shorter distance. The overnight participants have a dedicated area near the start line where friends and family are welcome to hang out through the night.
