The route runs from City Hall out to Northfield Park and back through the neighborhood, so it is an out-and-back on city streets with a clear turnaround. The course is short enough that costume-wearing is part of the point, and holiday dress is the norm rather than the exception. Eggnog at the finish line is the tradition here.
