About the Effingham County Fair 5K
The course starts and finishes on the fairground's dirt oval beside the grandstands, with music playing at both ends. From there it winds out through the grounds, passes between ball fields, and loops around a newer track before heading back. The surface shifts underfoot as you go, from track to road to grass.
Packet pickup and race-morning registration both happen in the same early window before the start. The race kicks off fair week, so the grounds are already stirring when you arrive. There is a water stop partway through, just as the course moves onto the grass loop.
