About the EDWINS Run for Re-Entry - Trail Run Grind & Fun Run
The trail option here is genuinely rough. The course drops into Doan Creek, crosses water, and climbs steep, narrow trails through uneven and rocky ground. Most of it is off-road, with only a short stretch on pavement. The fun run stays entirely on neighborhood sidewalks and is open to strollers. Both start and finish at the EDWINS restaurant on Cedar Road.
Packet pickup runs the morning of the race at the restaurant before your start. The event benefits EDWINS Leadership and Restaurant Institute, which trains returning citizens in the culinary field, so the location and the cause are the same place.

The EDWINS Run for Re-Entry - Trail Run Grind & Fun Run has been held every year since at least 2020. That is as far back as RunSignup's records for this race go, so it may well be older.
